Blimey, it’s December already. Where did 2012 go? Only a couple of new additions this month due to pressure of work. Unusually (for us!) it's been 18 months since we have been abroad. Which also might explain the shortage of new images as I find different cultures more inspirational than England. Yes, I know I should get out more! Now that the travel ban has been lifted, 2013 should see us in Burma (Myanmar). I last visited the country in 1979. I wonder if it’s changed? Southampton Camera Club recently held an exhibition at West Quay shopping centre. One of my images was voted joint 3rd by the visiting public. Don’t forget, entry is now open for the 100th Southampton International Exhibition of Photography. As it’s our centenary, the Chairman will be awarding special commemorative medals in addition to the raft of FIAP, PSA and RPS awards available as usual. Closing date is a little earlier this year - 27th January 2013.
Helen will be taking part in this year’s Art Craft and Gift Fayre at Southampton University on Sunday 25th November 2012 in the Staff Social Centre, Highfield Campus. Ideal for Christmas presents, Helen’s unique, hand made silver and lampwork bead jewellery will be on sale under the Silver Leaf Design banner. Read More...
Only when looking at this website at a friend’s house did I realise how (relatively!) few pictures have made it into imageplant. And that a few were in the wrong place! So I have added a mixture of old and new images and done some housekeeping. Thanks Roy! Read More...
The 3rd Open Studio week with our friends at Purbeck Cottage Studios was a great success. There is something about seeing your work hung in a gallery full of other great photographs that is quite inspiring. If you missed it this year, keep watching this site for details of the next event. Not photography related, but there will be another chance to see Helen’s beautiful handmade jewellery at the Southampton University Art, Craft and Gift Fayre on the 25th November.
